2011 Resolutions

Welcome to my first official post! I think it is fitting that my first post of 2011 is about my resolutions for the year. I blogged about my resolutions last year and i thought it was helpful and i enjoyed it so, i decided to give it another try this year. While I had decent results from my resolutions last year i, however, did not stick to the blogging part of it. Sure, the resolutions are what really count here but i’m going to try to stick to the blogging part as well this go round. If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter at all then you could probably guess that fitness will have a big influence on my resolutions this year, however, i did include some that aren’t fitness related. Here is the list and then i will do a post for each that goes more in-depth. (I will link them too as i get them finished.)

Fitness Complete a Half-Marathon Work on Arm Strength Reach Goal Weight (half way there!) Educate Myself on Eating Better
Non-Fitness Use Less Paper Pay Off (another) Loan Be Less Selfish

So there they are in all their glory and I’m excited about working towards all of them!
Questions for my readers: - Do you usually make multiple resolutions or just one? - Do you usually end up keeping your resolution(s)? - What have you decided on for 2011?
Assuming i have any readers... Hello? Hello? *crickets* :)

Happy New Year!

2010 Comes to an End

Well, it has certainly been forever since I blogged. I am, however, planning to try to start it up again. I am currently working on a redesign for my blog that should be up within the next few days. That is where I will really get into my new topics but before I left this one I wanted to look back at my 2010 resolutions since the year is coming to an end.

I have to admit I did better than I expected which is actually sad when i think about it because it means that i never intended to finish them all. That kind of defeats the purpose, right? In my defense though i did make several resolutions when people usually just make 1 or 2. However, I need to stop holding myself to low standards. Regardless if i make 2 or 10 goals i need to plan on reaching them all!

Success
Get Back to the Gym/Get in Better Cardio Shape - This is funny to look at now given my current stance on running. (coming on new blog!) I remember making this resolution with my goal being not to be out of breath when i reached the top of the stairs at work. I currently run 3 miles at least once a week and I am STILL out of breath when i top those dang stairs. haha.

Pay off Mazda - done! woo!

Semi success, Semi Fail
Avoid Fastfood - I wanted to knock it out of my diet completely but I will say that I have significantly decreased the amount of fastfood that i eat.

Become a Morning Person - I wouldn't say I'm a morning person as far as work goes but on weekends i do wake up a lot earlier than i used to. I think that should count for something.

Research Better Eating - I have been losing weight (coming on new blog!) so obviously i have learned something but I don't think I am at the knowledge level that I would like to be at eating right.

Big Ball of Fail
Volunteer - Honestly, i totally forgot about this one. Didn't even look into possible ideas...

Be a Better Granddaughter - probably the most important resolution and I didn't put forth any effort at all. So that means I, in fact, became a WORSE Granddaughter. I will have to make this one a high priority for 2011.

That wraps up the 2010 resolutions. Stay tuned for the new blog and new resolutions for 2011!

Merry Christmas to All!

(FYI - the web address for my blog will remain the same. Just the appearance will change.)

This One is for the Ladies!

Do you prefer short or long hair on vacations? I can't decide.

Long Hair
Pros:
• You can braid instead of drying
• Nice beachy/wavy look
• More styling options

Cons:
• Hotter than short hair
• Can get BIG if humidity is up

Short Hair
Pros:
• Quick to style
• Cooler temperature
• No drying needed

Cons:
• 80s look if drys without styling (i.e. after swimming)
• Haven't had short hair in a long time... might be clueless

I just can't decide! Halp!
